Head to Serangan today: it's ranked first across the area and the swell angle wraps in cleanly here whilst the east wind still holds onshore. Right now the surf looks thigh to waist, fair at 3 out of 5, because wind chop is running at 94 per cent and the groundswell is barely moving the shape. The 17-second period is long enough to hold some structure, but you are looking at mushy, inconsistent peaks this morning. Water is warm at 27°C. This is a day to wait for the lift, not paddle out now.

By 3pm the swell will fill in overhead and the wind will freshen to 20 kilometres per hour from the east, still onshore and still pushing chop into the peaks. The tide is barely moving and will not help. The window at 7pm is your call: if the wind eases and the swell has settled into shape, that hour becomes real. If not, today stays choppy throughout.

Tomorrow shapes up as a genuine 5 out of 5 day, with overhead to well-overhead peaks and the swell holding firm into the morning. That is real power for confident and experienced surfers only; the soft A-frames and shorter left will be working, but so will the main right, and the shallow rock will demand respect. Forecasts shift, especially this far out, and the exact timing and top end of that size are worth confirming at dawn, but the trend is solid enough to plan around it.
