Start at Inside Ekas this morning, where the reef lines up perfectly for the incoming south-west groundswell and the cliff shelter keeps the faces clean while east trades are pushing everywhere else. Conditions look epic: head to overhead peaks across 1.9 to 3.1 metres right now, the 16-second period holds shape across the open face, and the wind is running offshore from the north-north-east at 2 kph. This is experienced-surfer territory; the size and power here demand solid paddling and deep wave knowledge. The best window runs until around noon.

By mid-afternoon the south-east wind swings cross-shore at 28 kph and the faces chop up, ending the clean spell.

Tomorrow reaches shoulder to overhead and probably overhead in the better sets, with the morning window again your best bet before wind kicks in. The size is firm but how the swell angles and wraps across the bay overnight is not locked in yet; read the first light conditions and adjust your break choice from there. This stays experienced-surfer terrain, and may well outrun today depending on the overnight swell direction.
