Airport Lefts is the call to start with, though Berawa, Canggu, Echo Beach, Kuta Beach and Kuta Reef read exactly the same in today's forecast and what separates them is not yet known. The swell is overhead high, looking like 3 to 5 metres, driven by a 17-second groundswell from the south-west wrapping in cleanly under a light offshore wind from the north-east that holds the faces steep and defined. Water is warm at 28°C and the tide is barely moving, giving you stable conditions across the two peaks. This requires confident, experienced surfers only; the size and real power demand that skill level.

Around 3pm the wind swings to the south-east and turns cross-shore, softening the definition on the faces. The swell holds but the clean window closes well before then, with the best of it done by noon.

Tomorrow peaks at the same epic rating with overhead-high surf probably reaching 2.4 to 5.3 metres, marginally bigger and worth an early start if conditions allow. Morning should offer the cleanest walls before wind and tide shift the shape, though forecasts at this range carry genuine uncertainty and the ocean may deliver something different from what the models suggest.
