Start at Mushroom, the pick of the Senggigi cluster today, though Senggigi Inside and Senggigi Outside read exactly the same in the numbers right now, what sets them apart isn't yet clear in the forecast. The swell is long-period groundswell wrapping around the headland from the south, exactly the angle these breaks need, and it's groomed clean by offshore wind from the east that won't flatten the faces. The size looks like waist to chest, with occasional sets pushing shoulder-high, and the water is warm at 28°C. This is a day for improvers and intermediates comfortable with coral reefs and steeper take-offs as the tide falls and the wave shape sharpens.

By mid-afternoon the wind swings cross-shore from the north-northwest, which will roughen the faces a touch, but the swell holds and the size ticks up slightly to shoulder-high. The best of it runs until 8pm as the tide continues to drop.

Tomorrow looks much the same in size, waist to chest, probably shoulder-high in the better sets, and rates equally as good, with the morning the cleanest window before wind direction shifts later. The forecast here leans on a single offshore model and the breaks themselves are still settling into the platform, so the read is solid rather than certain, but back-to-back days like this are uncommon enough to plan around.
