This is a wave for confident experienced surfers only; the size reaches well overhead today, the shallow sharp reef demands precision, and the fast barrels leave no room for hesitation.

By mid-afternoon the onshore wind will have strengthened to 20 kilometres per hour and the swell will soften slightly as the tide continues to rise, closing out the remaining shape and finishing the day's window by early afternoon.

Tomorrow peaks at the same rating but with slightly smaller faces, probably chest to overhead, and the cleanest moment will come in the early morning before the trade wind builds again.
