The swell angle is slightly off the ideal W to NW, so wrapping may be patchy, but the 74 per cent groundswell energy and light offshore wind early this morning have already built shape into the peaks, what you see now is close to what you'll get.

By mid-afternoon the wind swings to a cross-shore NNW and picks up to around 19 kilometres per hour, flattening the face and closing the window. The tide will have finished its gentle rise by then, so there is no compensation from a moving bank.

Tomorrow the forecast reads a solid peak with stomach-high waves in the morning, a genuine step up from today. Size and swell angle look more aligned to what the break prefers, though any model this far out carries uncertainty. If the forecast holds, morning light will be the time to be there.
