Right now the swell is overhead and the reef is responding, but the cross-shore wind from the WNW is roughing up the faces and today stays fair at best. The 14-second period groundswell wrapping in from the south is the good news, it has the range to peel long lines, but with 19 kph cross-shore wind already up and the tide barely moving, the wave faces are textured rather than clean. This is a wave for confident, experienced surfers only; the size and power demand respect.

By mid-afternoon the wind holds from the west at 20 kph, still cross-shore, and the swell stays in the same overhead window. Conditions do not improve later today; if you are waiting for a cleaner run, it does not arrive.

Tomorrow morning the swell softens to shoulder-to-overhead and the forecast turns good for the first time. It looks cleanest in the early hours before the wind fills in, and the outlook is firm enough to plan around. Forecasts shift fast in the tropics, so check the morning wind as it breaks, but tomorrow reads as the day to be there.
