Lisbon's city wave, a consistent west-facing beach break beside the fort near the mouth of the Tagus, ten minutes from town by train. Punchy lefts and rights over shifting sandbars that turn into heavy sand-bottomed barrels when it cranks in winter. Best on a solid W swell with N to NE wind at mid tide, since very low tide makes the banks close out. Reliably crowded.

Heads up. Crowds, strong rips, close-out sandbanks at low tide, urban water quality after heavy rain.
