Right now Whiskey Point is fair and playable, but it is not a beginner wave today. The swell looks like chest to overhead with real power behind it, and it suits confident, experienced surfers only. A long-period 14-second groundswell is wrapping in from the south at the right angle for this point, which is why the faces are holding shape despite the cross-shore south-westerly wind at 19 kph; you will need to time the morning gloss window before that wind swings and roughens the faces.

By mid-afternoon the wind will drop to 6 kph and turn north-westerly, running offshore and cleaning up the faces as the swell probably eases slightly to chest-high. That window from 3pm onwards will be noticeably better than now, but the swell will be fading into the late session.

Tomorrow is epic on the forecast and the swell will peak around midday at stomach to overhead, still requiring an experienced surfer but with cleaner conditions and more shape in the face. Tomorrow is the day to plan around, though forecasts this far ahead shift; the offshore wind and long period should deliver what is promised, but the ocean always has the final say.
