There is no wind chop in this swell, and the angle is wrapping perfectly off the headland to peel long walls down the sand. This is a confident, experienced surfers' day only; the size and power today sit well beyond what this break usually demands, and they demand respect regardless of the wave shape.

The afternoon tide will keep rising and the wind is swinging northwest and onshore, so expect the faces to soften and close out a touch from around 3pm onward. The swell is also dropping half a metre or so, which signals the end of the best window for today.

Tomorrow the swell fills in again and probably peaks at head-high or bigger, with the morning offering the most size and shape before it thickens through the afternoon. This is a solid progression day for improvers and intermediates, though the forecast this far out carries the usual margin for error.
